The property where Mercearia d'Alegria is located today dates back to 1936. After a complete renovation, it was transformed into accommodation that honors the memory of an iconic space in Peniche.

Before becoming a Bed & Breakfast, the building had several functions and stories, including the old neighborhood grocery store. These elements have been preserved and reinterpreted with sensitivity, to keep the memories of the local community alive.

In creating this space, we wanted more than just accommodation — we created a home with a soul, where history lives in every corner and is felt in every detail.
